These Lyrics by Terry Mechan, 1998
There is a land far from this distant shore
Where heather grows and Highland Eagles soar
There is a land that will live ever more
Deep in my heart, my Bonnie Scotland
Though I serve so far away
I still see your streams, cities and dreams
I can`t wait until the day
When I`ll come home once more
So Lord keep me from the harm of war
Through all the dangers and the battles roar
Keep me safe until I`m home once more
Home to my own in Bonnie Scotland
There are a few more versions to this, but these are the words that resonate the most with me. The youth band played this last night, it's beautiful, never has a piece brought me to tears like this. Just beautiful...

I've played that before..It's a beautiful piece!
Aye.....Been to Scotland...My wife's ancestory goes deep there, especially in Hamilton. Things are bigger and better there :)
Glad you were able to have some deep meaning from playing this piece.
Those words are fantastic. When I lived in London anything Scottish was enough to bring a tear to my eye... someone did a dance to "My love is like a red, red rose" and I was well away.
Cured it by buying Cilly Connolly's World Tour of Scotland on DVD :) Just glad I live back in God's own country now.
